Phil Monsour, Ethan Enoch, Sophie Nishizawa and Matt Hsu connected this year at the mobilizations against the genocide in Palestine. When Phil Monsour a long time Palestine solidarity activist and musician was singing a few songs at a picket of the Ferra Engineering factory at Tingalpa (that manufactures parts for the F35’s that are currently murdering thousands of Palestinians and now people in Lebanon also,) Phil invited Ethan up for an impromptu collab and this version of Which Side Are You On was born. Phil and Ethan regularly share the stage at protests and Palestine solidarity events. Add in the music and production of Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra and the sublime vocals of Sophie Nishizawa and you get an powerful and angry statement against settler colonial violence and white supremacism.
